SOMALI POLICY DEVELOPMENT
WHAT WE ARE
We are An organisation a think tank that will conduct researches in different areas (political, economical and social issues) of public concern. It would be an incubator for ideas, a place to consider, explicating and driving better policies in our nation’s best interest. Our org. will create and enhance a politically democratic culture based upon the Somali traditional, Islamic values and modern developed civil society. We are an action oriented organization with the intention of having an impact on the political and social spectrum of our society. Our main focus will be; steering the Somali people to search for a durable and sustainable solution to the multiple crises facing us today and to build a system that could be a paradigm to the Somali syndrome (phenomena). We want to introduce a system which guarantees our people equal opportunity regardless of his/her clan, believe or gender. We believe the power sharing formula of 4.5 is a real shame & disgrace to our people and will introduce instead an acceptable system of power sharing which will endorse democracy and multi-party system.
Our aims and Objectives
We have witnessed over 2 decades of ugly tribal war, barbaric warlords fighting each other and the worst of all, people using our beloved religion as a brutal political instrument. Criminal thugs, radicals and fanatical terrorists from all over the world came to our country to fight their own wars on the cost of our people’s lives and wealth. We have also seen how other countries fight their proxy wars in our country and destroyed what was left of the national institutions. We believe that no one else can save this annihilated nation and put this ruptured country back together. We want to build a tribal free society based upon justice, equality and rule of law.
Our Vision:
Our vision sets out what type of a nation (society) we aspire to be. By placing JUSTICE and EQUALITY at the heart of everything we do, we’ll develop an innovative and creative society that empowers the people and which are capable of competing in general with other nations and in particular with the people of the region.
Our Mission:
Our mission is to layout the foundation for a new society, which can choose its leaders from grassroots to the highest level, through re- organizing and capacity building and using the modern technology as tool. Its our mission to bring our country back to its feet, in order to take our rightful place among other nations of the region.
Our Values:
Our core values are Honesty, Justice, Equality, Trustfulness, Transparency, respect, Self-reliance and Accountability.
WHAT INSPIRED US TO THIS?
We are inspired by the unwavering dedication to serve our people and country. The believe to build a Somali society based upon Justice, Equality in which Islamic and Somali traditional values are the pillars. The devotion to set up the foundation for a new society with democratically elected institutions that can coexists peacefully with other nations in the region. And at the same time works with all international organizations, democratic countries, who commit themselves to peaceful engagement in the region.
